Lorde tells DC crowd she swam in the Potomac River, Twitter reacts

Lorde had a concert in Washington DC last night and told the crowd she swam in the Potomac River. During an interlude in her set, she said, "I was thinking today, I was lying in the uh, Potomac River... I love getting to swim in water where I'm playing. It makes me feel like I know you a bit more, something like that. I was lying in this river being like, 'what can I say to these kids tonight in DC?'"

The Potomac River is rated as unsafe for swimming or fishing due to urban runoff polluting the waterway with fertilizers and debris, and overwhelmed local stormwater systems discharging sewage into the watershed.
