Even if she didn’t know THAT, both Mia Wasikowska and Shia himself were pretty public about how confronting Mia found his method acting on the set of Lawless (literally taking drugs and getting drunk to behave inebriated, etc).

Like, I’ll be gracious that Olivia could have been unaware about domestic abuse, but it was known to even us nobodies that his on-set behaviour was upsetting to people.

Honestly, from the little we’ve gleaned of this situation, I’m coming out of this pretty proud of Florence for clearly experiencing something she didn’t like and being pretty firm about not wanting to tolerate it.

I barely cared about the DWD press drama (actors and directors fall out, it’s not the first time this has happened in Hollywood), but this video is damning. I’m really impressed by how Florence is handling this. She must have a good support system - her publicist and manager are earning their checks for sure. Looks like Olivia’s the one that’ll have a wake-up call.

Seeing how detached Florence is from this actually makes me wonder about how that set operated *after* Shia left. If Olivia was willing to “figure it out” with Shia, what kind of behavior did she find acceptable from his replacement? Olivia and Harry’s entanglement doesn’t help the situation, because the power dynamics when your director and co-star are fucking… yikes
