I mean, known to us and know to them happen at different times. They usually know pretty early on in someone’s career that they’re a terror unless they’re purposely burying their heads in the sand to avoid learning as much. How many times did we have to have one guy lifted up to the public as a “good guy” as an example of a changing ‘culture’ only for them to be exposed as a long-running, well known creep? The one that comes to mind is Louis CK because they were all about “see comedians his age aren’t all Neanderthals” meanwhile they all knew he was a pox of a human being.

Sorry forgot to say, I was thinking it is a fair point about if this was any other job they’d be fired for their attitudes alone, but then I think of all the non-straight white cis men I’ve worked with who got critiques and penalized for their “attitude” which was usually just them responding reasonably to oppression but literally can’t think of a single example of it happening to a straight white cis man I’ve worked with (even when the need to do so was painfully obvious, and usually if anything those were the men who got promoted rapidly, and their ‘demeanour’ was outright excused as either a sign of their “genius” or something to be tolerated because of their value as a leader, needless to say they were usually dumb and incompetent as shit
