Easy, breezy, beautiful music. Breathy pop is for those who want a bop but not a banger or something that slaps. As summer comes to a close, I think it's worth re-discovering songs that feel light, bubbly, and relaxing.
Kylie Minogue - Come Into My World

THE song that inspired this post. Featured on Kylie's Fever album, this song's production remains timeless. It doesn't take much persuading to accept Kylie's offer to lose yourself in her world. The music video is unique as it features Kylie stuck in a time loop that becomes more chaotic.
Janet Jackson - All For You

It's Janet... Ms. Jackson, if you're nasty! The opening notes of the piano on this song are the musical equivalent of relaxing on the beach without a care in the world. I love how cute and flirtatious Janet is in this song. Someone To Call My Lover is another great breathy bop from the same album that's worth listening to as well.
Frou Frou - Breathe In

Before whisper pop, there was Frou Frou. A collaboration between Imogen Heap and Guy Sigsworth, Details is their only album. Frou Frou's Let Go was a strong contender for this list, but Breathe In might be one that a lot of people aren't as aware of it. My favourite part is how Imogen sings "cause I love you." It's a tender, soft bop.
Carly Rae Jepsen - Gimmie Love

In a stacked album like E•MO•TION, Gimmie Love lives in the shadow of songs like Run Away With Me. That doesn't mean that this song is forgettable. Carly's sweet vocals and soft production hold it's own in CRJ's discography. Carly appears to have a soft spot for the song as well, with it being the name of one of her smaller tours. The bridge on this song is pop perfection.
Gwen Stefani - Cool

Gwen's 4 In The Morning was almost chosen, but it's hard to deny the layer of nostalgia that makes Cool such a comforting song. Fun Fact: No Doubt member Tony Kanal's then-girlfriend and future wife Erin Lokitz play Gwen's ex's current girlfriend in the music video. The subject matter is unique as it deals with being happy for a former partner's new romance as passion changes into being cool as friends.
Jordan Knight - Give It To You

The circus accordion music might turn off some listeners, but in my opinion, it adds something whimsical to Jordan Knight's debut song. The only man featured on this list, Jordan earned his place with the soft verses and the upbeat but breathy chorus. Unfun Fact: Robin Thicke has a writing credit on this song.
ONTD, what are your fave breathy bops?
