rich people's wills probably destroy more families than we realize. there's so much power that comes with that level of wealth and we just assume immediate family is taken care of in the will when probably this Judd situation happens more than we realize!

Oh for sure. I said this in the Armie Hammer post but like... I grew up around wealthy people (not this wealthy, but wealthy) and there are a lot of people who use that money to control and abuse their spouses and adult children. It can be a prison.

I certainly hope that Ashley and Winona have money of their own, but unless their mom made it clear what she was doing I'm sure it hurt to be cut out like that.

I have a friend who is the kid from her dad's 2nd marriage and everything her dad has is probably going to end up with her and she thinks her siblings will still be cordial to her when that happens and I'm like "Uhhhh, I wouldn't be so sure".

Yea, that seems naive.

Me and my sibling also have different moms. It would be beyond weird if my dad left his everything to one of us but nothing to the other. Would feel like a huge kick in the face plus I would judge my dad because either way it's like saying "this is my real family, fuck those other kids".

Yeah, I don't believe the daughters are upset or baffled or whatever, both being rich in their own right and having well known sometimes contentious relationships with their mother. Leaving it to her spouse is hardly unusual or shocking, given the kids being themselves rich.

It's bizarre not to leave something to your children, especially not sentimental things. But in general I don't find it odd when a person leaves everything to a spouse, especially if there's a large home involved that would leave the spouse in a tough place to deal with without the liquid assets.

People with money I've known often would distribute assets to family members while alive in order to avoid tax issues.

Yeah though if that's the case here we probably wouldn't be hearing anyone's upset

Prior to my dad's death, my mom had it that everything would be left to my dad in the case that she died first. It makes sense to me. Though, her life insurance/assets is like $100k, not $25 million. lol

The Judds and “believes she was a major force behind her mother’s success.”

Well, yeah. Wynonna the main voice of the Judds.

This will feels like a "fuck you" to her daughters, especially considering how she orchestrated for Ashley to find her.....

How did she find her?

from what ashley has said, she called ashley over to have lunch or dinner with a friend out of the blue, they came over and they started wondering where naomi was and ashley went upstairs and found her body

I’m glad my mother told me long ago she wasn’t leaving me with anything when she died. I’ve seen so much drama and nastiness around wills and I’m happy to just be excluded entirely.

(I think she said that bc she doesn’t think she’ll HAVE anything left to leave to anyone when she dies.)
