-The discussion on what actors really make came up again after "Euphoria" actor Sydney Sweeney talked about her career.

-Taraji P. Henson broke down her $150,000 salary for the film "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button" on "The Real" last year. many people called her greedy for wanting more money, but she broke down what she really took home. The 2:18 mark is great, but the finaciaal breakdown starts at the 3:00 mark.

Henson:"When you start making that kind of money( $150,000) Uncle Sam takes 50%, so that leaves me with $75,000,Then I have to pay 30% to my team who did all that work to get me that job. I don't pay them 30% of the $75,000,No,no,no. I pay them 30% of the $150,000 that comes out of the $75,000.(Which leaves her with$30,000, which was how much her son's school cost at the time.

Actress Adalaide Kaine broke down her allged $5 millon internet net worth online :

“Generally speaking, SAG [Screen Actors Guild] minimum for a series regular on a network show is $20,000 per episode,” she began

“Say I did 78 episodes on Reign; that pares out to $1.56 million for four years of work.

“So, assuming that I’ve made $5 million in my entire career since I started working at 16. Here is how that breaks down.”

Kane explained that her agent and manager each take a 10 per cent of the money, with five per cent each going to her lawyer and business manager. 30 per cent went to taxes.

“So, I lose 60 per cent right off the bat, which leaves me with about $2.2 million over the last 14 years,” she said.

“Which if you average it out comes down to $178,000-ish a year which would be fine, a good wage. Except I have to pay rent in major cities, sometimes two cities at once.”

The actress then explained how she has had to fork out $2000 to $3000 a month for a publicist and social media team, a stylist costing her $700 to $1500 per outfit and $1000 for hair and make-up artists.

The video which was filmed in her bedroom has clocked up more than three million views on TikTok.

In a later video, Kane defended her spending habits, insisting she’s saved a lot of her earnings.

“Just to be clear up, every actor I know saves as much as humanly possible, because most of us go for months or sometimes years at a time between jobs,” she said.

“And we do get residuals, but... So, I’m fine, but my savings won’t last forever, do you know what I mean?”

"I've been broke a dozen times,". "When you look at it, it kind of makes sense, or my IMDb maybe looks consistent, but really there's large gaps of time with three auditions a day, still."

SAG normally has regulars on tv between $15,000-$25,000, but with shorter episode orders and streaming, a lot of mid tier actors can make as much as a high level fast food manager. The pay is even lower in England, which is why so many Brits are booked, they are cheaper in the beginning.

The Instagram Tax(My Opinion)

I saw this picture of the 2001 TRL tour lineup that said"When stars looked like they shopped at Walmart". The caption was mocking, but for decades young stars dressed in a way that made them relatable and that could be emulated. That is until Instagram where you have to spend an hour just to go to the market and female stars now have lash, nail and brow techs on their payroll.

This pic of Adam Sandler and Selena Gomez at a children's movie Premiere is always shown as how lazy guys are, but really shows how woman who grew up post social media must feel like they always have to be overly dressed up for everything.Stars use to only dress up for big budget world premiere films, not every film premiere. It is just a movie.Sandler wears a suit at special events, like where he presented his long term manager an award at a premiere of the 2017 film "Sandy Wexler" loosely based on him.

The Global Citizen Concert is a benefit concert organized by the Global Poverty Project that tries to help end world poverty, That has no dress code, but In 2018 however it became a battlegroungd for double standards in how men and woman are expected to dress, instead of people asking why do female popstars today feel the need to spend thousands to be noticed and why are their cloths talked about more then their talent?

In 2015 Beyonce matched Eddie Veddar with little fanfare. This all ties back to how much a star has to spend to earn. The old adage that you have to spend money to make money has never been more true
