In a pretty shocking twist, MGM has lost the rights to the Tomb Raider franchise. It has returned to producer Graham King and his GK Films. Studios are now in a bidding war to acquire it.

Alicia Vikander is no longer attached as Lara Croft and the planned sequel has been canned.
