i read a story the other day about Nasim Pedrad’s show Chad having the second season ready to go and then TBS literally pulled it and cancelled it hours before the first episode was set to air. they’re shopping it around now but it’s such a shitty situation.

Did they even air the episodes?

season two is complete like all the episodes are ready, so they’re shopping those episodes around to different networks and streaming services. I don’t think it’s landed anywhere so far.

They literally paid for it and won't air it? What a waste of money...they should have at least put it on HBOMax.

that would be a logical choice! and so would making Sam Bee HBO Max’s version of John Oliver/Trevor Noah but tv execs love to make stupid decisions

oh wow, how incredibly crappy. i watched "people of earth" on hulu and didn't realize it was an older show, but apparently tbs did something similar with canceling the third season they had already ordered after all the episodes had been written. likely a victim of the AT&T merger.

adam conover spoke on this fuckery before as well:

Need proof that corporate mega-mergers are bad? Pull up a chair while I tell you the story of how a merger killed not just my show, but also put an entire TV network worth of workers out of a job. pic.twitter.com/CGze1nsv68

Now see I hated AUE (truly his character seemed like an approximation of the most obnoxious know it all white guy which was THE POINT but still annoying non the less)but I hate the jokers more (They're like the guys who wanted to be in/on jackass but never made the cut so instead harass innocent people 'as a joke' and are just bothersome to the public in a way only white men could EVER get away with) so this is fascinating. I can also imagine something like this is what killed Logo as well because they too became a graveyard of the most random shows that older gays might like but are mostly straight. SAD for them
