this episode was so gooooood. i love this season, it’s so creepy and fun and so many scenes gave chilling and/or emotional vintage twilight zone vibes in a way that the many actual twilight zone reboots never manage

the scene with hale torturing the human-hosts with overexertion while dancing was so terrifying, especially the human chair. (hope they didn’t have to do too many takes, those poor extras)

askdjrjhd it was giving both suspiria reboot + the creepiest parts of ’80s jim henson (the helping hands from labyrinth + the evil animatronic episode of the jim henson hour are my forever nightmare fuel)

ed harris was fantastic as always, esp as host william starting to lose it. i’m sure he enjoyed getting to play something different
after having a fairly stagnant role for the other three seasons (great as he is)

i also have the feeling that teddy isn’t… teddy. he was acting very different in the date episode with christina (and not just because he’s a “contemporary” version of himself, as christina is to dolores). he could be a part of christina’s psyche trying to wake her up. (i know he interacted with her roommate but idk.) or, since they love fucking with timelines on this show and everything is now allegedly taking place at once, i wonder if host william’s existential crisis eventually leads to him having real william “replace” him in his host body, while host william “remakes” his identity as a hero and has a teddy host made to move himself into so he doesn’t scare christina as he would if he tried “waking” her in a william body. perhaps he decided to remake himself over in his mission to wake and revolt the other hosts, esp if hale split her psyche into “parts” and kept the pure wyatt half for herself while putting the pure dolores part with christina, forcing her to write narratives since she finds simply toying and torturing with the empty shells “boring”.

(…orrrrrrr james marsden just interprets contemporary teddy as having a much more aggressive attitude than original flavor teddy and i am entirely wrong shrug)

i’m also now wondering how many of the rebel people are actually human and how many are human-host hybrids like the woman they rescued from the park

love my ridic sci-fi soap 🤖 ♥️ 📡

I had the same thoughts about Teddy. This seems to be on the same timeline as Bernard and the outliers story now, so unless Bernard did some quick maneuvering while in the sublime and some undetected stuff in a Delos lab off camera (he would've needed the tech to build a whole new body for him), I don't know how or when he would've brought Teddy back physically. But as you said, her roommate is able to see him, so it makes me wonder. Ahhhhhh I'm loving this season!
