He is perfect because he is so unconditionally loving and accepting, even when he doesn't understand something.

I knew I was into this show when Tina would make a comment about her being super into a boy / a boy's butt, and Bob would just make that slightly disgruntled "hmm" sound but otherwise not comment on it. Every other sitcom would use that as a reason to make the dad freak out, "she's too young for this," be controlling, etc. But Bob just accepts that she's a teenager and has hormones and is a little boy crazy, lol. Overall, the family is just so accepting of Tina's weirdness and odd hobbies, to the point at which she rarely feels like she has to hide things from anyone. It's sweet.
