US was very good until they started trying to explain things.

Nothing about that "twist" makes any sense.

It was so dumb. That movie would have been improved immeasurably by Coherence-style mystical comet explanation so the focus could just be on the weirdness.

It was not. The whole cast acted their asses off, but it could not save that weak script.

People compare it to Get Out, which was near perfect, and think US was bad. Taken on its own, US was a solid movie. A little half baked, but miles - miles - better than most of the remakes and weak shit we've been getting the last ten years. It was a new, interesting premise with solid writing and characters alongside excellent acting that elevated the script. Anyone who thinks it's bad is wrong, sorry not sorry.

When it comes to certain directors who film twitter really wants to succeed (cause cinema is in danger) I pause.

Cause to me it’s kinda similar how marvel films will get high ratings on rotten tomatoes in the very beginning but then start dropping once more reviews come in.

US wasn't ass though. It was a truly original horror film tbh.

I loved US. The shot of the family walking on the beach with the shadows is truly stunning and Peele had something pretty unique to say about class+identity+social justice. Really powerful watch for me as a disabled person but you seem to be taking joy in cutting down folks that liked it so GO YOU!

lol if you're going to take things so personally when they aren't directed even in your general vicinity, that's your problem. i'm glad you enjoyed it, but i thought it sucked, and i don't feel bad about that.
