The series picked up 25 nods, including best drama series. In total, the show received 14 Emmy nominations in the acting categories. That breaks the record for the most Emmy acting nominations for a drama series in a single year, with the previous record being 12 for “The West Wing.” It also breaks the record for most acting nominations for any series in a single year

The nominees are:

- Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong for outstanding lead actor in a drama series
- Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Macfadyen for outstanding supporting actor
- J. Smith-Cameron and Sarah Snook for outstanding supporting actress
- Hope Davis, Sanaa Lathan, and Harriet Walter for outstanding guest actress
- Adrien Brody, James Cromwell, Arian Moayed, and Alexander Skarsgård for outstanding guest actor
