July 5, 2022 James Cameron is kicking off early Avatar: The Way of Water press with aggressive opinions. After claiming that people who question the first movie's cultural footprint will eat their words, he later said the current cut of the sequel is at about 3 hours. About that Cameron stated:
"I don't want anyone whining about the length when they sit and binge watch TV for 8 hours." Cameron also said that
he hasn't decided if he wants to direct the planned Avatar 4 and 5, but has not chosen who would take over the mantle if he does step back. Finally, Sigourney Weaver's surprising role in the movie was revealed.
James Cameron says it is a big acting challenge for Sigourney Weaver to play Jake & Neytiri’s teenage Na’vi daughter in ‘AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER’
“We’re gonna have a 60-something actor playing a character decades younger than her biological age”
