Maybe they thought the car wasnt running? Some cars don’t need a physical key, just a fob, and you push a button and it’s like still silent. So he let his son pretend to drive but suddenly he actually was.

He still has no right to be mad and lbr this man is such a mess he can’t hold coffee right, but maybe that’s the chain of events.

Yeah, I don't think he intended to let his son drive, and I don't even think the son tried to turn it on, I think the kid probably just released the break and that's why it moved.

But still, it was kind of dumb to let the kid get into the car and now he gets mad when confronted for the damage.
