idk maybe she wasn't the right messenger but she didn't say anything that wasn't true. Clarence Thomas has made it abundantly clear how he feels about the black community and blackness in general. He's literally Samuel L. Jackson's character from Django Unchained.

clarence thomas certainly is, but miss old white lady stewart has no place commenting on that. that's between him and his community and non-black people shouldn't be inserting themselves into it, least of all for a zinger for social media likes

Yet, Clarence Thomas has inserted himself in women's issues and lgbt issues and unlike Martha Stewart actually has the power to harm those communities in a material way. Real power not just social power. Can we stop acting like he's not one of the most powerful people in this country??? He doesn't need black people to defend him. And he's not part of the black community, he made every effort he could to make sure that he was not aligned with us. He is black in skintone only.

absolutely nobody is defending him, and he is and will be rightfully criticized for inserting himself into womens and lgbtq+ rights. but that doesn't mean people can't point out racial aggresions, micro and blatant, when they happen.

Well, that's where you and I differ then. All she did was tell the truth, sure it may not be her place but that doesn't inherently make what she said racist. She should've realized the optics of a white woman saying it but that doesn't make what she said wrong at all.
