No need to wonder.

A new Marvel comic reimagines what would have happened if Miles Morales became Thor instead of Spider-Man, and that means someone took a lot of black stereotypes, put them in a blender, and poured it on a page.

The comic was written by Yehudi Mercado and with art by Luigi Zagaria, is part of Marvel's upcoming 60th-anniversary celebration of Spider-Man.

Morales's narration in the comic has also been deemed stereotypical. At one point he says: "Of all the five realms, Asgard is his hood."

This is the only one of the What If Miles stories to not be written by a black writer. It shows.

I know everyone is talking about "Asgard is his hood" and "By Odin's Fade" in the Miles Morales Thor comic but let's not ignore that the writer has him say All Eyes on Me because it's also the name of a rap album pic.twitter.com/3fvA0Z9jfY

If you have read this, is it this bad? Does he say 'look at my kingdom, I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the prince of Asgard'?

I'm not familiar with Miles beyond the Spider-Verse movie, but I've seen images where he's lithe,  which is cool, and I know Thor is bulky, but there's something very uh about this choice.

who asked for this, #marvel, comic books, marvel, #spiderman, race / racism
