i'm still working through my feelings on this finale because it was just...so much. i like that it was upfront about the desperation in all of these characters, that it didn't try to undercut it with jokes and instead let it all play out. i also really love how the camera work changed this season. the show has always liked close ups, but there were so many more close ups on characters and loved lingering on this stillness that made it so much more engaging and compelling (and also at times scary as fuck like Barry at the end of episode two and Sally in this finale).

i'm looking forward to where the show goes in season 4, and i'm happy the season ended with [Spoiler (click to open)]Barry being arrested. i always thought that Barry being caught and Barry dying are like the two worst ways the series could end. so for them to kind of blow up this double life at the end of season 3 and re-set it all for season 4 and take these characters to wildly different places is exciting. i also love that i know that this show will treat Sally and Hank differently now that they did resort to violence and have "Barry's disease..

anyways, i get that these last two episodes take the show to a wildly dramatic place but. i. still want it to win series lol. like. i can't sit there and watch Ted Lasso win for it's really blah season 2 when this exists. anyways this is my favorite tweet from last night:
