June 6, 2022 -After 500 episodes, 39 seasons and various spin offs, MTV is bringing us a documentary on how the same came to be and how it blew it up.
-It was originally created as a Real World vs Road Rules crossover show to pit the two reality tv casts against each other in fun and ridiculous challenges (who can melt a giant cube of ice first?) before it transitioned into a high velocity sport that often leaves cast members with broken body parts and opening it up to all of Reality tv.
-Lately it has been speculated that Paramount has decided to move the show from MTV and bring it to CBS/Paramount+. CBS is ditching the MTV cast and focusing it exclusively on their reality contestants that are on Big Brother, Bachelor(ette), Amazing Race, etc..
