This post feels especially for me LOL. I actually know one of the members on the mattel design team and he posted about the process for the Laverne doll:

The paris hilton doll is both so random but already late in that they've moved onto series 4 of Rainbow High - which is seemingly rushed because there is a LOT of quality control issues - and are rolling out the full Rainbow High vs. Shadow High experience. Her School, Pacific Coast High, was more of a very expensive side line between other things as well so why would she need a doll? Their webisode was cute at least, if you ignore the Paris (contractually obligated) hype -
Lastly with Monster High, I'm definitely very excited to see what a full trailer experience will give and more of the character/clothing designs for sure. The new dolls are bound to come out soon to coincide with the movie and I wonder if they've officially wrapped it.

i really need for mga to slow down though. i managed to find two from series 4 that weren't messed up. the other dolls had screening and makeup issues. they also need to chill with increasing the prices. the shadow high twins are $70 and have issues with the bubble gum.
and for monster high, they released the repros! i got all of them, haha. they're sold out everywhere.

I don't like the second outfits for RH dolls, so I'm trying to sell it lol just let me recoup some shit.

i'm waiting for shadow high to go on sale though. i love them, but i don't want to pay full price for all of them.

We could have waited an extra month or so for series 4 to be out if it meant no messy mouths or wonky eyes - especially with Pacific Coast, Series 3 and winter break dolls left over while Shadow High just-just came out. They have no sense of pace and it's going to bite them in the ass because with everything else also on the rise who will be able to keep up? Stores won't even be able to stock things properly
