He enjoys the hunt. Also if Reva told him about Leia he may have realized Leia wasn’t there and if the kid was important enough to get him out of hiding he’s not going far without her.
The camera stayed on Vader's face for a bit and it made me wonder if Anakin's love or Obi Wan was trying to come through and he was fighting with it. That whole pull to the light thing.
[Spoiler (click to open)]Obi-wan was so outmatched. I can’t imagine what he can do in the next couple episodes to get up the Vader’s level. Some sort of training montage with Qui-gon??
He’s at his lowest so all he can do now is rise back up. Dunno how he’s gonna do that. He was no match for Vader. He clearly manages to evade him for 9 more years but it’ll be interesting to see how he does it.
You have to consider though that Obi-Wan has literally not used the force, except for catching Leia, in 10 years. He's been in the dark(not the dark side, but as he described to Leia when she asked what the Force was like and he asked if she'd ever been afraid of the dark how did it feel when she turned on the light, she said safe).
No doubt it started out as practical, Force sensitives can feel other force sensitives if they are using the force, esp if they they are purposely using the force, he needed to hide, to protect himself and Luke, but I think cutting himself off from it is partly the reason he is how he is now. All his life he lived in the warmth and light of the Force as well as that of those around him, his fellow Jedi and then his fellow Jedi are gone and so is the Force.
I don't think it would take much once Obi-Wan truly opens himself up to the Force. He's a wise and powerful Jedi, one of the greatest, all he really has to do is open himself up and remember.
