“Something about a cat in an elevator?”

May 6, 2022 While appearing on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James, Benedict Cumberbatch took part in the ‘Unpopular Opinion’ segment where someone called in saying she couldn't “understand Ariana Grande when she sings.”
To put it to a test a snippet from Grande's song 'Problem' was played where the lyrics are “I should be wiser, and realise that I’ve got”.
Benedict's interpretation? “Something about a cat in an elevator?”
When Greg then played a bit from 'Positions' with Grande singing “I’m in the Olympics, way I’m jumping through hoops”, Cumberbatch said: “Poking through holes?”
The actor says he's actually a fan of the singer though. "She is just an extraordinary, extraordinary vocal artist. Someone played me her music and I’m a huge, huge fan. I think she’s got such raw talent.”
Other unpopular opinions covered on the show were liking the smell of cow manure, frozen chips not needing to be cooked, and people who don't eat crusts being weak.
The most explosive, horrible unpopular opinion came from Cucumberbatch himself though - he doesn't like working with cats! Probably because he's yet to realize that there's no working WITH cats, only FOR cats.
