May 4, 2022This year's inductees to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame were announced today. This year's performer honorees: Eminem, Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, Lionel Richie, Pat Benatar, Eurythmics, and Carly Simon. Dolly Parton, who previously said she did not want to be considered, had recently taken back her comments in light of discovering the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame covers more genres than just rock & roll.
The honorees are voted on by more than 1,000 artists, historians and music industry professionals. The ballot also included Kate Bush, Devo, Fela Kuti, MC5, New York Dolls, Rage Against the Machine and Dionne Warwick, who were passed over this go-round. Judas Priest and songwriting and production duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis will be inducted in the non-performer category for musical excellence.
The induction ceremony is November 5th.
