I've been avoiding too much of this because the fandom for this man is insane BUT ... Johnny's career was over before he met Amber. He had severe alcohol and drug issues, became unreliable on movie sets (hence, the real reason he was losing roles), was deep in debt and taking parts in garbage movies just to fund his lifestyle.

I also avoid a lot of these stories because of the unsaid thing that is bothering me ... the ZEAL of people to blame Amber. There's a societal lust to blame a woman for a man's self-created problems and it is absolutely disgusting (and terrifying). In this trial, it's on full display. A real "witch-hunt".

I just can't follow this case beyond here and r/deuxmoi because of the cult of Depp. All because Amber isn't a perfect victim.

Same! I won't read about it anywhere else because it makes me sick.

i appreciate her not hiding away from the fact she didn’t react perfectly. it’s extremely relatable as someone who has had to react to dv before.

it really goes to show how people do not understand abuse.

deuxmoi and ONTD Depp posts are basically the two Spider-Mans pointing at each other at this stage. The last two sane places on earth for this.

I hate that you are almost forced to preface everything with "amber isn't perfect either but --". I actually don't care,
I'll go full stan mode. Hating on a woman for no other than misogynistic reasons should not give more validity to my or anyone's arguments.

i'm out too, i can just handle this post atm.
the amount of tiktok accounts i've blocked just so their shit doesn't come up on my fyp, the amount of times i've had to say 'not interested', on tiktok, on instagram. the amount of words i've muted on twitter. i'm shutting them all out, it's horrendous. i'd say it's almost on the level meghan markle received, if not more?

it feels worse than meghan because at least it felt like there were media outlets on her side and an equal number of meghan stans to fight back against the cambridge stans or trolls but this feels like it’s 99% on depp’s side

Yeah, it also felt like an overwhelmingly British thing to hate her, while the rest of the world - to whom the BRF is more or less entertainment, and they don't harbour personal feelings towards them - just watched on in perverted voyeurism. But this is truly international and encompasses people from all walks of life and ages. Probably because he's a known star in every corner of the world and almost everyone liked at least one of his films. It's crazy, I can't think of any other case that was so prevalent and persistent and bias thrown at you literally everywhere!

I don’t have TikTok so can’t say firsthand but I saw a comment in a previous post that marking post as ‘not interested’ is still seen as engagement by the algorithm so the best thing to do is ignore them, not click anything on them, and then actively seek out & engage with content you do want (whether pro Amber or kittens) and the depp bs should clear itself from your algorithm in a couple days. I’ve seen a lot of comments from users saying the more they click not interested the more they seem to be seeing of that same content, so there does seem to be some merit to not using that feature.

Hope this helps!

thanks for this!

it's such bullshit that the option "not interested" they transfer as "still interested actually" >:(

I find this disturbing as well. People with limited information on the case will basically jump at any chance to talk negatively about Amber Heard and they'll do it with so much fervor too! In fact I've seen comments from people online that aren't that far off in depravity from the disgusting texts that Johnny Depp sent Paul Bettany.

I see it all the time and it gives me chills. And coming from so many women, too.

It's truly disturbing me how many people I know who I previously thought of as sane and reasonable are sharing anti-Amber content online...

His fans not caring about him clearly having a severe, potentially fatal substance use problem is really something.
