I have no idea how actors do it. I've been watching bits and pieces of GIRLs recently and there is one scene where Marnie? is getting eaten out and the male actor has his full face in her ass. Like even if she's wearing a thong or some other thin barrier that doesn't show it seems like an overly intimate thing.
call me a prude (I am) but I would not want a co-workers ass in my face or vice versa.
For some unholy reason, Allison Williams describing the prep that she did for that scene has been burnt into my brain. The vanilla scented lotion, the pad of some kind stuck back there.
I can’t read the article so I don’t know if she means the sex scenes but maybe the topics/issues/characters presented in the show? I’ve rewatched the show and i do think the show stands up but so much of it relies on the characters being unlikable and accepting that as a viewer, and I’m not sure audiences today would be receptive maybe (since they still weren’t even really when it came out).
I think those were two distinct topics. Like she doesn't mean that it wouldn't be able to be made because of the sexual content but that putting out a show like that about privileged white girls in NY would come off even more tone deaf now than it did back in 2012. And I think she's probably right.
