Yeah I don’t understand that either lol the math ain’t mathing
I think she basically wanted a way to be like “people are afraid of losing money but I’d rather put my money back into my business because I know it will come back to me plus more” and somehow that needed up being the Taco Bell story
if this story is even at all rooted in reality, sometimes banks will freeze debit or credit cards if they detect unusual activity, such as moving around large amounts of money.
My bank suddenly started freezing my card every month after I paid my car insurance. Same insurance as before, same amount, no idea why. I'd have to call and get it unfrozen.
Not at all. Bar/restaurant manager here in la and have worked at very high volume bars on popular strips. Cards just decline if anything triggers fraud. I’ve had my own card decline at my own bar because it was a Saturday night and I was paying for something for a friend who came to visit me. It can happen if you are spending a lot in one location, if you’re in a high traffic area during a peak time, or simply if you’re traveling outside your area and making a large purchase. It’s annoying but for your protection.
Apparently Shell cards won't work twice in the same day, so I found that out. And I mentioned above that my bank suddenly started freezing my card after I paid my car insurance every month. Who knows what triggers this stuff sometimes.
This happened to me once and is common, especially if the money is moving overseas. I was going to Switzerland for a summer program connected with my graduate school and paid for it using my debit card. Chase is on the ball because when I woke up the next day I had both phone and email messages saying that they froze my account because of suspected fraud and to call them immediately. I did, had a big laugh with the rep, and they unfroze my account and asked the Swiss school to resend the charge so they would let it go through.
yeah you can use a personal card and when I've known people who do that, it's a great way to rack up points. or maybe she was going to write off lunch as a business expense 😂
I personally think since it was a large sum for the men's line, her account was prob flagged for a small charge like that since they were so incongruous. making sure it wasn't a tester charge (where someone swipes a cc and does a small charge to make sure the cc works)
