- Tom and Zendaya were doing a French print interview in November, but were being filmed. They seemed to not know they were already being recorded before the interview started (some private moments are caught like Tom telling Zendaya she looks beautiful) or still being recorded after it ended. This video was never released to the public but somehow fans just found it and shared it
- They are asked who is the best Spider-Man, then are asked who is the best MJ. Tom emphatically insists Zendaya is the best MJ while Zendaya laughs and gives a PR friendly answer of "everyone brings a beautiful part to the character"
- The interviewer ends the interview, and the following interaction occurs:
Zendaya: She's gonna hear it and lose her mind
Tom: *laughs* Yeah
Tom: That's so funny
Zendaya: It's not the movies, it's just the person
- For reference: In 2017, Kirsten Dunst made comments about Tom's first Spider-Man movie saying it was just a "cash grab" and that the original movies that she was in were obviously better. This was amidst Zendaya receiving a ton of backlash for being cast as MJ
- Tom was asked about it shortly after and said she's entitled to her opinion, that he doesn't care if she doesn't want to see it and doesn't dislike her, but that he obviously did not just make the movies for the money
- Note that last year Kirsten was again asked about Tom's movies before No Way Home came out and switched up and said she would love to reprise her role and be a part of it
