b) the article with Laura Neal talking about the last scenes? Phew, she should not be advertising how badly she misunderstood the entire show.
I don't mind bad endings for queer characters necessarily, but Eve and Villanelle were very clearly either supposed to die together or live together, but the coming together of those two characters was the entire premise of the show.
Seriously though, I take down the names of the writers who do this kind of stuff and actively avoid their writing after that. Sally Wainwright is the only screenwriter who has redeemed herself so far.

This is the writer's fault. They got too cocky with all the acclaim they got for their first season and didn't pay attention to why the audience enjoyed it in the first place. They side-stepped their lead character with unnecessary sloppy story arcs and it got stale and boring fast
Hope Hollywood pays attention to their mistake. Don't put Sandra Oh in the corner of her own damn show

It's not just the finale, though - the show had one good season, and has been on a downhill slide ever since (with this season just throwing us off a damn cliff), and for some reason I kept watching hoping it would get better! So that's on me.
