The athlete was heading back to locker rooms after suffering some injuries and his team losing to Everton football club 1-0. He discharged his frustration on a fan recording him by swatting his cell phone to the ground as he was passing by.

He has since apologized to the fan and invited him to a game in Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship.
