IDK if this is an unpopular opinion but why is proposing in front of the Eiffel Tower considered the ultimate gesture of romance for some people? It's just a superficial tourist attraction lmao. There's so many more romantic places out there to propose honestly.
People love these big ass romantic gestures. It's like proposing on NYE or someones birthday or Christmas. At the end of the day most humans are not super creative LOL
When one of my friends was planning to propose to his girlfriend, he talked to me about a bunch of ideas he had (I specifically remember one of the options was on a hot air balloon ride). He was leaning hard towards doing it on Thanksgiving and I was like NO, YOU PUNKASS.
I understand it a tiny bit more if your family members are scattered all over the country or the world and this holiday is the one time all year that everyone is together, but even then I still say no. Propose on another day and then you can celebrate it with your family when you gather for that holiday.
I love(d) travelling, been all over and Paris is the only city that's made me cry bc of how strangers treated me, so I hate the people too. I did fucking love the food though so it wasnt a total bust.
yeah she's clearly got a connection to France, she even lived there briefly to learn the language (and had her second wedding there I'm pretty sure lol)
I don’t even want to get proposed there tbh. Lovely as it is but like… surely there’s somewhere that really set the right mood to do it. Doesn’t have to be so fancy or whatever.
The 🔐 on that bridge had to be taken off because it got too heavy that the bridge could collapse at any moment. So much for a nice gesture of romance and eternal love
It’s not even remotely nice near the Eifel tower anymore with all the anti terrorism shit set up near it. Last time I went, you couldn’t even just walk under it anymore

I think they went the "town of romance" route.
