I feel like Robert Eggers and A24 are trying to Oscar bait his new movie "The Northman"

LMAO didn't some test screening reviewer say that you needed a degree in viking history to understand even a second of what was going on?

The Northman is based off of Amleth, which is the legend that Hamlet is based off of, so I can't imagine it being too difficult to follow given that even children are at least somewhat familiar with Hamlet.

Do A24 even Oscar bait properly anymore? They've been dropping the ball these past 2 years.

LOL good for them! I had a bit of irrational annoyance towards A24 for their Oscar baiting and all the praise for their films (even though I like a few).

I had a bit of irrational dislike of them cause they were so overhyped but this is cracking me up OMG!!

I wonder what happened?!

I think the simple explanation is that Apple and Netflix have much, much deeper pockets and they were offered better compensation.

The Northman isn't an A24 film

first A24 needs to find a better awards campaign team because after they lost their best players to Netflix they've been kinda shit at getting their movies nominated for anything major at the Oscars
