i think (at least i speak for myself) i know he’s a bad actor but i have a lot of good will for him from watching city hunter as one of my first dramas. i think he was decent in that but idk if i have rose-colored glasses on while remembering it. i think he picks “good” (not quality-wise, but talked-about) works tho that give him the little boosts of exposure he needs to stay top of mind in pop culture. i haven’t watched him in this yet but i think he can do creepy so i would hope he fits this role at least!

I love your icon, btw! Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo will always be one of my favorite, feel-good dramas.

i liked him in legend of the blue sea too, the king was awful (expected tho with that writer). i think he does comedic smart-ass type characters well, that’s where his charm comes through. when his character is just like a handsome chaebol and nothing else (heirs, the king, boys over flowers) is when usually it’s boring AF
i haven’t rewatched kim bok joo in a while, i always forget that’s my icon lol. know there’s issues with fatphobia but i still love the writing in general
