On March 23rd, 2012, the first Hunger Games movie was released. The franchise would make Jennifer Lawrence a household name and gross 2.93 billion dollars world wide.
Let's take a look back at the 2012 premiere.
Our leading lady, Jennifer Lawrence. "Did people expect me to be on fire?" she asked reporters.
Jennifer Lawrence with her leading men, Josh Hutcherson who played Peeta. And Liam Hemworth who played Gale.
Elizabeth Banks who played Effie.
Shailene Woodley, who fun fact was considered for the role of Katniss.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
Miley Cyrus with Liam, who I believe was her fiancee at the time.

Amandla Stenberg who played Rue.
This is an actress named Kalia Prescott, she is forever burned in my mind because although she played a nameless hunger games contestant and had zero lines, she said lemme just show up in an oscar dress.
Trivia(please take with a grain of salt)-
-Jennifer Lawrence was paid $500,000 for the first movie. The success of the first movie helped her secure a ten million dollar paycheck for the sequel.
-Jennifer Lawrence had to drop out of the movie Savages to film this movie instead. She was replaced by Blake Lively.
-Josh Hutcherson allegedly put on 15 pounds of muscle within three weeks to get the stocky strong look of Peeta. OP note-is that possible??
-Though the alleged list of actresses who were considered to play Katniss is considerably longer, those who have confirmed to have auditioned include Brie Larson, Emily Browning, Hailee Steinfeld, and Lyndsy Fonseca.
-Elizabeth Banks spent forty five minutes before filming each day on her Effie manicures.
