- But... it's probably most important to note F1's recent statement about the "cancellation" of the Russian GP. This sport has no morals, so even I am cynical about them declaring they wouldn't race in Sochi as they used the phrase "current circumstances". The Russian GP is usually held in September. Basically if F1 could without facing backlash, they'd still hold the race there.
- Also citing "the view of relevant stakeholders" is a little terrible considering, it's not like the venue had storm damage and needs extensive repairs, we're talking about Ukrainian people fighting their lives. (Granted this statement was probably written by a team of lawyers and a PR firm, so they're trying to not get sued for breach of contract.)
- Some background: the venues pay F1 to hold races at those circuits, this for most circuits (except Silverstone) will include government funding
