The drug isn't even recommended for use in Russia for people her age. If she had the conditions it's commonly prescribed for, she wouldn't even be allowed to skate by a doctor, period. Nothing her people could come up with would justify why a 15 year old would have this in their system.

I guess better a ridiculous lie than one that could cast doubt. I feel for her and wonder how all this scrutiny will impact her program. That coach and everyone else who encouraged/enforced this needs to be banned from the sport forever. They obviously don't care about their athletes at all.

It has to do some serious psychological damage the way Russia essentially manufactures figure skaters. They scout them out have them doping all these different drugs to do these jumps and tricks, have them ween off just enough before competitions to pass drug tests and collect the gold medals, and then in a year or two the second puberty hits-🗑 and you’ve been replaced by the next skating prodigy.

The second that puberty hits, I meant lol. Cause so many things change; your bones get denser so it’s harder to do jumps, you endurance can change so long practices can be more tiring, your height shoots up so you’re center of gravity changes and it’s harder to do tricks. And instead of working with their talented skaters to overcome this natural part of life and grow to be even better on the ice, Russia says; 🚮 and moves on to the next talented 14-15 they can start molding to get a medal.
