Doja released a cover of Hole's Celebrity Skin in conjunction with her Taco Bell ad for the Superbowl

"“It’s no secret I’m a major Taco Bell fan which has made my role with this campaign all the more fun,” Doja Cat said in a press release. “I’ve enjoyed every moment of this campaign, especially the ones where we get to break all the rules.”

I wanted to like this so badly… the lyric change is milquetoast compared to the original.

…but what can you expect from something created specifically for a super bowl ad.

Lyric changes really bother me. Also, she sang it otherwise exactly like CL, which…okay. It sounds good but it’s not a lot of effort.

It's such a generic cover. Like a Kidz Bop version of it. I wonder how much celebrities get paid to embarrass themselves like this.

I was listening for Kids Bop but it sounded like good karaoke after a couple of drinks. At least change up the backing track a little! A good cover should be able to stand on its own a bit, and this doesn’t.
