It's our favorite season of the year, awards! Now that the ten actresses nominated for an oscar this year have been announced, it's time to play stylist and discuss what we would like to see them wear down the red carpet.
I may have waited closer to the big red carpet date in March, but after ear marking this gorgeous silver
number for Penelope Cruz only to have it stolen by
Olivia Rodrigo, well I knew it was time to get this show on the road.
Open the cut to see the ten looks I picked out for the talented actresses. Note-Since this is just for fun I didn't worry about contractual obligations (Kristen Stewart/Chanel, for example)
Penelope Cruz

2019-Won for Best Actress for "The Favourite"

My pick for 2022-
Dior-Her previous Oscar looks have all looked a little stuffy and warm to me. I would love to see her in this breezy cool piece that shimmers in the light.
Jessica Chastain
Nominated for Best Actress for "The Eyes of Tammy Faye"
Previous Oscar History-
2013-Nominated for Best Actress for "Zero Dark Thirty"
2012-Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for "The Help"

My 2022 pick-
Valentino-This mouth watering hot pink would flatter Jessica's complexion and really make her pop on the red carpet. Some might have reservations about a red head in pink, but I think it would be fabulous.
Kristen Stewart
Nominated for Best Actress for "Spencer"
Previous Oscar History-
First nomination
Previous Oscar Look-
My 2022 pick-
Alexandre Vauthier-Alright this one might be a bit controversial, but I would color her hair back to a dark glossy brown and slick it back wet, give her a navy smoked out eye and dewy skin and then let her rock this daring look.
Nicole Kidman
Nominated for Best Actress for "Being The Ricardos"
Previous Oscar History-
2017-Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for "Lion"
2011-Nominated for Best Actress for "Rabbit Hole"
2003-Won for Best Actress for "The Hours"
2002-Nominated for Best Actress for "Moulin Rouge!"
Previous Oscar Look-
My 2022 pick-
Antonio Grimaldi-Nicole is so tall and stauesque that she can handle this runway look. I'd love to see her wear the tallest heels and walk down the carpet towering over the crowd.
Aunjanue Ellis
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for "King Richard"
Previous Oscar History-
First Nomination
No Previous Oscar look, here is an alternative example-
My 2022 pick-
Alexis Mabille-This is not a very common color on the red carpet and would help her to stand out. At 5'9 she is tall enough to not get lost in the volume.
Jessie Buckley
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for "The Lost Daughter"
Previous Oscar History-
First nomination
No previous Oscar look, here is an alternative-

Previous Oscar History-
First Nomination
Previous Oscar Look-

Previous Oscar History-
2014-Nominated for Best Actress for "Philomena"

Ariana DeBose
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for "West Side Story"
Previous Oscar History-
First nomination
Previous Oscar Look-
My 2022 pick-
Valentino-Funny enough I actually had
this orange piece ear marked for Ariana, thinking it would look stunning against her skin. Then I saw that her last Oscar stylist thought the same, we can't have her wearing orange twice. I think this sparkly blue piece also does her justice.
