I actually just binge watched (and fastforwarded...) this show and I went back and read the ontd posts for the episodes. Am now up to date so I guess I'm ready for this but also am I because of the same reasons that we all know...
The first American theme tune was trash. I have a soft spot for the season 3 theme.

Same!! I loved the earlier episodes so much and all the supporting characters in Scotland. Didn't care for their time in France and find the newer seasons in America to be a snooze fest. Is it because the drama feels more politically based now and less about the adventure of it all?

I loved this show in the first two seasons. I know people hated the season in France and were happy when they went back to Scotland but for some reason, the show felt like it lost some of its spark when they went back home. The episodes in France were an interesting change and the costumes were major eye-candy. All those colours made going back to Scotland seem really dreary and depressing and the oncoming war didn't help.
