I associate with both goth and metal scenes, and there's definitely a difference, musically and aesthetically. But somehow grunge brings us all together, who knew.

That being said I would never call myself a goth or a metal head because I'm a grown ass adult and it sounds strange to me, lol

I'd say Black Metal! At least in this photo. Although I heard he attended some symphonic/goth metal shows around Europe, so he seemed to be rather into that scene in the mid-2000s.
