I certainly hope he didn’t buy or take that crow from somewhere he shouldn’t. The only folks I know with crow “pets” are wildlife rehabbers.

That being said, I have a murder of crows that I am close with. They usually come when I call and follow me around walks in the neighborhood. They get peanuts, and in exchange I get the hatred of my neighbors lmao. It’s very rewarding to develop a relationship with wild animals! They’ve even brought me a few shinies. Very intelligent, and social creatures.

Starting in 1994, my grandmother would get a raven vistor who would come in the kitchen window (those german windows that look like half the wall opens) and it would even hitch a ride on her bike when she went into town.

She passed away in 2004 and we knew the woman who had moved into her apartment. The woman said the bird was sit outside the window for months and it creeped her out. She finally let it in and it walked around inside a bit, then left and never returned.

They really remarkable being to connect with.
