• Mediocre filmmaker and former friend of Will Ferrell, Adam McKay is producing the first feature film about the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.
• The film is tentatively titled J6 and will be written and directed by Billy Ray (The Comey Rule, Richard Jewell) and produced by McKay. The film is currently being shopped the studios and streaming services.
• Ray went to Washington DC in the days after the attack on the Capitol and interviewed witnesses, developing it into a five episode limited series at Showtime before the director of the HBO Max documentary, Q: Into the Storm, suggested bringing the scripts to McKay (who produced Q).
