I saw a select premiere of this movie back with my ex before it was released. Yes I was THAT cool in 2010.
Joking aside I’m totally gonna watch this anime.

But the “live action” is so good. I watched it a few months ago and it still holds up.

I’m assuming the comics have much more content? To make it worthwhile to produce this.

yeah from what i remember each graphic novel is dedicated to one of the exes so i remember when i first saw the movie thinking it was like if all the harry potter books were one film lol

Basically what happened was that the movie was being finalized before the last book in the series came out. So while the comics do have more content, its ending is also pretty different.

The comics I think developed a lot of the execs differently and because it’s several volumes it does delve more into why Scott was also a bad boyfriend too. Knives was written much better and given actual development to become more independent (and also because Edgar Wright’s version of Knives had weird racist Asian jokes in the film, so there’s that.)

At the source of what? The comic books, the movie or the greenlit anime?

one of the characters in the comics! the irl person got called out (and very rightfully so) for his dismissive behavior towards BIPOC volunteers at a festival going back a VERY LONG TIME that became somewhat expected at this, and ended up resigning / going dark on all sm.
