this show like any the of recent revival shows is so unnecessary.

usually i'd agree but the last few seasons and the finale of dexter were so egregiously bad compared to the quality of the first four seasons it was worth a shot at redemption with the original showrunner.

Agreed. I have been enjoying this revival far more then I liked the last few seasons of Dexter. Probably one of the few revivals I have been into.
