Paul Bettany: having Johnny Depp texts read aloud in libel trial was ‘an unpleasant feeling’

Just an idea Paul Bettany, but if you don’t want “unpleasantness”, maybe don’t ever chat with your mate about whether the two of you would murder his wife by “burning” or “drowning” her. https://t.co/lJyaE64ihQ

Paul Bettany has spoken for the first time about having text messages between himself and Johnny Depp concerning Amber Heard read out at Depp’s libel trial. While he doesn't approach the violence against a woman that he used in the texts, he is rather upset over the invasion of his privacy.

He said, "Can you imagine what it would be like, honestly, to have a bunch of lawyers go through every one of your emails and texts for 10 years? All I can tell you is that it was an unpleasant feeling."

One message, sent in 2013, made lewd reference to Heard’s “beaver”, and discussed her murder by “burning” or “drowning”.

“I’m not sure we should burn Amber,” wrote Bettany. “She is delightful company and pleasing on the eye. We could of course do the English course of action and perform a drowning test. Thoughts? You have a swimming pool.”

Depp responded, “Let’s drown her before we burn her!!! I will fuck her burnt corpse afterwards to make sure she’s dead.”

To which Bettany wrote back, “My thoughts entirely. Let’s be certain before we pronounce her a witch.”

Depp lost the libel case.

According to Depp fans, the texts were a-ok because they were from a Monty Python sketch. Okay, then!
