Yeah... is there any research that rehab or therapy helps these types of eh.. 'urges'? I always thought it was extremely difficult to treat/cure people of these types of issues. I guess he could learn not to 'act' on them, but I'd have a hard time believing he doesn't still fantasize about it.

Difficult, but not impossible. It also takes consistent and genuine effort and long-term therapy. I have trouble believing he genuinely wants to change or work on himself or that he will remain in therapy indefinitely.

It's mostly to treat 'insight' so as long as you aware the actions are bad and is able to gain 'empathy to the victims' then it mitigates the risks of the actions reoccurring.
But it also depends on the person's genuine wish to change as well as mentioned by the person above, which I don't think AH does...
Having said that, I deal with crazy criminals so I'm not sure if celeb rehabs are the same lol

Thanks for the insight! I really appreciate it. Most of my knowledge comes from TV true-crime armchair quarterbacking (which I admit is not the best haha) so it's good to hear insight from people who have real experience.

No worries! I wish my job is as exciting as the media portray it as. I’d at least have a chesterfield sofa in my office 😂

my problem with this shit is how on earth do you create empathy when nothing in your life so far led you to it in 9 months? or any less time than the bastards been alive? how is getting caught ever a valid motivator? i dont see rehab working for anyone ever other hwne one moment you think its okay to violently rape someone and the next yove had some counceling sessions. its all so weoefully inadequate and there should be no rehab choice for rapists. prison for life.

It really comes down to the person. If they’re willing to learn then they can gain a lot from psychological support and if needed medication. How people behaviour is also 98% influenced by their surroundings, which for AH is a rich, entitled lifestyle and potentially some form of mental disorder. So unless he starts to gain an understanding that he’s not above anyone and that his gfs are not properties then he’s on the right path. I’m gonna have to put a disclaimer in all my comments now cus that the lawyer in me talking, but I’m a forensic mental health lawyer so i deal with shitty people like him all the time 😂

I don't buy it, like what are the chances that the therapists treating him were actually even basing their practice on the right values? IDK I'm just feeling pessimistic today

Apparently it's rare for men like this to genuinely change, but therapy does help them become better abusers
