Do kids still watch older tv shows? Like pre Friends? I feel like I watched a lot of old shows as a kid bc of Nick at Nite.

Me too! I also grew up with older relatives (great aunts and such) who would put on lots of classic TV shows that would air in syndication in the 90s.

I lived for older shows as a kid. Gimme the black/white, laverne & shirley, charlies angels, ALL of them.

I feel that way too re: nick @ night. I think I was like 9 when I got a dvd set of I Love Lucy bc I obsessively watched it lol. Ironically I noticed the only iconic b&w tv I watched revolved around women like bewitched and ILL.

Older TV shows were the best. I lived for I Dream of Jeannie reruns and my brother and I spend a whole summer watching The Monkees. Staying home sick was a treat because I'd get to catch The Carol Burnett Show.

i loved nick at nite's summer block they used to do when wonder years and the brady bunch played, they had fun little animated commercials for it. i remember one where paul was over at the brady's, and needed to use the restroom, but they didn't have a toilet, etc.

I don't think many Gen Z-ers are familiar with pre-Friends shows because they're not on Nick@Nite, TVLand, etc.

I used to watch old show like Gillians Island, I Dream of Jeannie, I Love Lucy, The Brady Bunch, etc.... because they were on tv all the time. Now there's a zillion channels and a million streaming options so younger kids are stuck with whatever is in the basic cable package.

The most depressing part about this comment is that when we were all watching shows like Different Strokes and Facts of Life on Nick at Nite in the late 90's early 00's the shows weren't even as old as Friends is today.
