Anyone else feel like this season is completely lacklustre ? Like, they just aren't really trying anything to get the momentum going and they are forever trying to get us to like certain characters that just don't or will not gel well with the already established ones.

Yeah, I'm not feeling it. It's been such a comfort show before, but this season I don't enjoy any of the storylines and so many characters are less likeable or downright unlikeable. I'm just not having fun anymore.

Yes! It's still an easy watch, but I don't have much interest in watching it while actually watching it.

I actually thought that last night's episode was a bit better than the previous ones just because there was a bit of banter between the characters but season 5 still lacks something so far...

Totally! We've had nine episodes and most of the arcs happened in the first 3/4 episodes and then we either had episodes focused on guest stars (not even recurring characters), useless drama we've been through already (I just want Karen to have a story that does not revolve around her fearing that Hen will cheat again) and a lot of 188 scenes that didn't feel like the firefam we know.
They've been able to handle darker themes before but this season they just cannot seem to find a proper balance. The few uplifting (the string lights during the blackout) and 911-style fun scenes (like that grandpa cooking up drugs in the senior care facility) get drowned in all the drama.

SO lackluster. I can’t even believe we’re approaching the mid-season hiatus because I feel like nothing has happened. Also they need to stop trying to make Buck/Taylor happen. They have like negative chemistry and it’s embarrassing.

Legit. I didn't think it was possible to have less chemistry than Eddie and Ana, but they've managed it. It must be bad between them on-set too, if Oliver Stark's Instagram stories last night were any indication.
