Trying to think of why he would, though. Maybe out of anger when he found the letter proving she lied to him about his dad being dead? We saw his temper in last night's episode. He may have pulled a Joe Goldberg and strangled her. It kind of pointed at it not being his first time choking somebody when Audrey asked where he learned that move, lol.

Also a chance he found out who she was/what she did, and had a stroke of his father's darkness. OR, she did in fact die of cancer and on her death bed she told him everything about her past, but more importantly, Dexter's. Which would bring him to Iron Lake, to possibly kill him. Maybe out of revenge for basically costing his mom and his aunt their lives.
