Maybe it's because he dates so many other people named Taylor so they all label their houses with their last names to keep from getting confused about where they are.
Some women are really excited to change their name and become, for example, the Lautners. I try not to get too judgemental but usually fail. My mom ne er changed her name when she married and neither did I.
Dunno, I only read what was on this post. You can know a proposal is coming and still be surprised by when it actually happens. I side eye anyone that proposes as an elaborate scenario without actually discussing marriage with their partner first. But 70% of women in the US adopt the partners last name after marriage, not counting those who hyphenate or use their birth name professionally only (like SMG in your icon) . After 3 years, he probably knows if she's going to be in that group or not.
I recently learned that it's illegal to change your name for marriage in Quebec and I have yet another reason to adore Quebec and Canada. And most kids names are hyphenated.
i would guess that it's maybe like spanish and portuguese speaking countries do, where the grandkid would just take the first surname of each parent and be grandkid A-C
I never changed my name when I got married either, and the confused looks I get from older people when my husband and I say we're married... I'm pretty sure they think we're lying lol. My husband actually wants to take my last name (because his is common).
Just got married last month, and really didn't even consider changing my last name. All of the other women who married into the family (my husband has a lot of brothers) were so excited to change their names, and I feel like they're lowkey judging me for not doing it tbh.
