Operation "Get Cillian Murphy An Oscar" heats up with two new additions to Christopher Nolan's upcoming film.

Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr. are set to join Cillian Murphy and Emily Blunt in "Oppenheimer," which will revolve around J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who ran the Manhattan Project that led to the invention of the atomic bomb. The film will be released on July 21, 2023.

According to sources, Damon will play Lt. Gen. Leslie Groves, the director of the Manhattan Project that created the atomic bomb. Downey will play Lewis Strauss, the infamous Atomic Energy Commissioner who initiated hearings that questioned Oppenheimer’s loyalty to the United States and infamously had the scientist’s security revoked.
