so many things, and lives could have been saved. but one of the biggest takeaways is learning who does not care.

Off the top of my head, streaming wouldn’t have become the growing titan and center of conversation it’s become in such a short amount of time. Experts had predicted something like this was going to happen but they were expecting this at least 7-10 years down the line. The pandemic rushed it. Which cause huge effects on the current state and future of cinema.

A few other business and stores would’ve still been open cause the pandemic caused a lot of places to go out of business.

Technology and social media def had a big boom because of this. I can only imagine a more growing need for it after this.

I can’t wait to get an accurate list of things that happened as a direct result of the pandemic.

Well one of the worst things apart from people suffering was learning that some people are just straight up selfish assholes and will be given the solution to a problem for free and refuse just because they made up something in their mind.

Yep. The levels of selfishness astound me still. For me, it's not just the anti-vaxxers. We're not out of the 4th wave in Michigan, and it is pretty fucking bad, yet there was a big ass college football game on Saturday.

I understand people miss things and they're not having experiences they would have had in a non-pandemic time. But people are dying from COVID, the hospitals are overwhelmed, and we don't know the long-term impacts of COVID. Burning some sofas and cheering on some football rivalry isn't worth the risk to the community.

We wouldn't have possible/likely vaccines for HIV and malaria if you want some good news

there are no possible malaria vaccines. malaria is caused by plasmodium parasites, not a virus.

Except there is currently a vaccine being rolled out to African children that targets a specific phase of the parasite's growth but it's only 40% effective. BioNTech is researching how to use the new mRNA technology to create a more effective vaccine and pre-trial studies in mice have created a strong immune response.

On a British note, the UK government wouldn't have been able to hide how badly the country is doing with Brexit in covid.

We wouldn’t have concrete evidence that our employers are living in the 80s and are useless at tech and ultimately care more about seeing your body in the office than the health and safety of their staff.
